Boracay Island is one of the best holiday destinations in the Philippines. Despite Boracay’s refreshing appeal as a tourist attraction, this is a good example that teaches us how tourism can bring negative effects to the community when not properly well-taken care of. The island comprises 10.3 sq km. In 2017, Boracay recorded an all-time high of about one-third of the country’s local and international visitors (about two million tourists).
